MCHC measures the concentration of haemoglobin inside red cells. It is a fine-tuning value in the blood count.
MCHC is a fairly stable value, and large deviations usually point to a sample issue rather than the patient.
What does low MCHC mean?
Low MCHC can appear with iron deficiency.
What does high MCHC mean?
High MCHC is uncommon and can appear with some haemolytic conditions.
